The Old Vicarage Wedding

– Frankie & Tim –

Who would have thought right back when I met Frankie & Tim at a wedding fayre in the New Forest that their The Old Vicarage Wedding Day in March would include a snowy flurry!

I woke up on the day to snow already starting to settle and more coming down fast. I couldn’t wait to get some shots of the bride and groom surrounded by this unexpected but beautiful winter weather.

The wedding took place at the gorgeous Old Vicarage in Hinton, which has always been on my list of favourites. It’s the perfect cosy winter wedding in the main building as well as a unique summer venue complete with an outdoor ceremony area and large marquee!

The morning…

My day started at The Old Vicarage Wedding Venue, capturing the Groom and his groomsmen along with their close family members putting the finishing touches in place ahead of the guest’s arrival. The ceremony room is a lovely and bright room. It had vines draped around the exposed beams and wooden chairs decorated with white roses to match the most beautiful displays of flowers on the mantlepiece and registrar’s table. There was a wonderfully elegant style to the wedding, which continued through the day, even after the room became the reception room.

Once the guests had come in from the cold to the cosy ceremony room, it was time for the arrival of the bride. Now if you know me you will understand my excitement at Frankie’s choice of wedding car… I LOVE VW camper vans! An adorable cream VW van hummed up the driveway and although the choice of car may not have been the warmest on a day like today, it was just amazing for photographs!

The Ceremony…

Back inside the emotions were building as Tim eagerly awaited his stunning bride to walk through the doors. As soon as she did his reaction was enough to set everyone off! She looked incredible. The ceremony was full of laughter, mainly because on occasions they were looking at each other so deeply that they would forget the words that had been given to them, which was just amazing to capture.

The ceremony was lovely and full of smiling faces and happiness. Afterwards, their closest family braved the chilly air outside for a few group shots with the new Mr & Mrs Emm. The snow was getting heavier again now so after I had captured the Bride and Groom alone together for some couple shots it was time to really show the snow off in one of my favourite shots at the moment. I had this shot in my mind the minute I woke up this morning to a snowy day. It was everything and more than I could have hoped for. The snow carried on for us to get the shot and it just all came together perfectly.

The Afters…

After the wedding breakfast and speeches, the reception room was cleared away in anticipation of the first dance. But first, there was a delicious-looking cake to be cut! Everyone crowded around the dance floor to get a glimpse of the first dance. After a few minutes, the guests were asked to join the bride and groom on the dance floor.

After the all-important Father-Daughter dance, it was time to get the evening started! As the drinks flowed more people braved the dance floor resulting in some amazing moments. I was very impressed with how long some guests stayed on the dance floor.

In the garden, one of the Bride and Groom’s close friends had set up a lovely light display above the tree swing. Before I left them for their evening there was just time to do some photos of the couples at the party on the swing in the snow.

I had such a great day capturing Tim and Frankie’s The Old Vicarage Wedding day. From the beautiful flowers to the relaxed fun-filled vibe throughout the day. It was all perfect and the snow just topped it off!
